Resource Atlas

Twelve resources from scrap to chicken feathers — zones, values, and why the loot is near bodies.

Values measured on the launch build (Sept 1, 2026 reads). Items tagged [RECON] follow the predecessor's numbers and are pending community verification — corrections welcome via GitHub issues.

ResourceValueZoneNotes
Scrap Metal·Ch.1 zoneThe day-one resource. Hull fragments everywhere, grab bare-handed. Bottom of 60% of all crafting chains.
Copper Wire·Ch.1 zoneStrip from broken junction boxes. Heavy demand starts late chapter one (grabber upgrades).
Plastic Panels·Ch.1 zoneCabin interiors. Storage racks and entry-level seals.
Tempered GlassCh.1 zonePorthole shards. Required for helmet visor upgrades — tempered irony.
Ice Water·Ch.2 zoneChipped from drifting ice. Feedstock for base electrolysis, and the chicken drinks it too.
BatteriesCh.2 zoneLooted from tool wreckage near corpses (don't ask why they're always next to bodies). Base power and thruster fuel.
Resin ClumpsCh.2 zoneDegraded cargo-strap adhesive. Advanced seals and armor pieces.
Alloy Plates★★Ch.2 zoneChapter-two hull ribs. Coffin armor upgrades — home should be tough first.
Circuit Boards★★Ch.3 zoneBridge electronics. Mandatory for automation and scanners.
Crew Tags★★Ch.3 zone[RECON] Collected from the dead in the wreck. Doubles as crafting currency and story keys — each tag maps to a crew log.
Stardust Foam★★★Ch.3 zone[RECON] Outer sail regions only. Endgame material that slowly drifts away — chase it.
Chicken Feathers·BaseThe chicken sheds periodically. Don't scoff: half the late-game gear wants feathers in it. Series physics does not permit explanation.

The good loot is near the dead — the moral discomfort is part of the design.
